• Early detection is known to be one of the best ways to overcome breast cancer.  Doctors know that if they want to be successful at treating this condition that they'll need to provide you with the best methods for knowing the condition s there.  To do this, doctors are working on new ways to effectively find a diagnosis breast cancer in women, and men, sooner.  Some of the most amazing studies involve the use of DNA and determining if there is a link there.
• Doctors are working on their ability to treat more advanced stages of breast cancer, such as stage 4 breast cancer.  In later stages of the disease, there are fewer opportunities for doctors to treat the cancer with the medications that they have and many times chemotherapy is not as effective as it could be if it was done earlier.  Many times, this is one of the worst situations for patients to find themselves in.
• Doctors are working on learning new methods of treating breast cancer with surgery, too.  Currently breast cancer surgery is a treatment option, but it is not always the best choice.  Many times, doctors find that the cancer has spread to the rest of the body or that they can not get to the cancer well enough.  This can cause a number of problems for the patient, including the inability to fight off the condition.  New breast cancer research is being done to improve surgery techniques including offering less invasive procedures.

Breast cancer research is ongoing, as there are still many things that doctors are working on learning more about. While there may be methods to getting cancer out of the body, the cure for all types of cancer are not here yet.  As doctors get closer, though, you'll be able to see many more opportunities for advancements in the way doctors can fight this condition.
